Real Gold Expertise, 10k to 24k
Our metallurgists and master casters work daily with 10k, 14k, 18k and 24k gold, plus gold-filled and gold-plated bases. We help you pick the right karat for your price point, market and durability needs — without overpaying for what you don't need.
Sampling Before Bulk, Always
Every custom gold jewelry order starts with a 3D render and a physical sample. You approve the design, the finish and the plating thickness before we commit to mass production. No surprises in the final delivery.
Certified Quality With Lab Reports
Gold content, plating thickness, lead/cadmium safety and tarnish resistance are verified in our laboratory. Each bulk order can ship with a test report that your retail customers can trust.

One of the most common questions brands ask us is what "gold jewelry" actually means. In the trade, the word covers four very different products with different costs, durability and consumer expectations. Understanding the difference protects your margin and your reputation.
10k vs 14k vs 18k Gold: How to Choose the Right Karat
Karat (k) tells you how much pure gold is in the alloy. Pure gold is 24k. Because pure gold is too soft for everyday jewelry, manufacturers mix it with silver, copper, zinc and other metals to create strong alloys. Here is how the most common gold jewelry karats compare:
- 10k gold (41.7% gold): The most durable and most affordable real gold option. Popular for men's jewelry, rings and pieces worn daily in the US. Slightly lighter in color because of the higher alloy content.
- 14k gold (58.5% gold): The best all-round balance of color, durability and price — the #1 choice for fine jewelry in North America. Warm yellow gold color that resists wear well.
- 18k gold (75% gold): A richer, more luxurious yellow with higher gold content. Softer than 14k but still wearable; very popular in Europe, the Middle East and for high-end bridal.
- 24k gold (99.9% gold): Pure gold — used mainly for investment bars, traditional Asian jewelry and special-occasion pieces. Too soft for most everyday settings.

Gold-Filled vs Gold-Plated: What's the Real Difference?
Gold-filled jewelry is made by pressure-bonding a layer of real gold (usually 14k) onto a base of jeweler's brass or sterling silver, then drawing it into wire or sheet. The gold layer is mechanically bonded and must be at least 5% of the item's total weight — that makes it roughly 100 times thicker than standard gold plating. Gold-filled jewelry can be worn daily for years and is a smart alternative for customers who want "real gold" without the solid-gold price.
Gold-plated jewelry, by contrast, applies a thin layer of gold through electroplating. Quality varies enormously depending on the base metal and plating thickness. At Endless Jewe we plate to 1–3 microns for standard fashion pieces and up to 2.5 microns+ for vermeil-grade demi-fine collections. A well-plated piece with a rhodium undercoat can still tarnish over time — which is exactly why you should source from a factory that controls plating thickness, not a trader who can't tell you the micron count. See our gold-plated jewelry manufacturing page for details on our plating process and tests.
Which Gold Option Should a Jewelry Brand Start With?
If you're launching a line and testing the market, gold-plated sterling silver is the fastest, most affordable way to validate designs. Once a style proves itself, you can "step up" the same design into gold-filled or 14k/18k solid gold for a premium collection. Many of our clients run all three tiers from one factory — keeping the design identical and simply changing the material spec. Talk to us about a tiered gold jewelry program for your brand.
Custom Gold Jewelry Manufacturing Process: From Sketch to Store
Whether you need OEM gold jewelry (produce your existing design) or ODM gold jewelry (design from a concept), our in-house team manages every step. This is how a custom order moves through our factory:
Consultation & Design Brief
Send us sketches, photos, inspiration boards or just a price target. Our designers translate your idea into a manufacturable spec — metal, karat, finish, stone, plating and quantity.
CAD Design & 3D Rendering
Our CAD team builds a detailed 3D model of your piece. You review photorealistic renders and request changes before any metal is cut. Learn more about our 3D jewelry design and rendering services.
Rapid Prototype & Sample
We 3D-print a wax model, cast a master and create your physical sample — in the real metal, karat and plating. Sample lead time is typically 5–7 days. See our sampling service.
Mass Production & Quality Control
Once you approve the sample, production begins with in-line QC at casting, plating, setting and finishing. Random pieces are tested for gold content, plating thickness and durability before packing.
Branding, Packaging & Delivery
We stamp your logo, apply custom tags or cards, and package in your own boxes or our premium jewelry packaging. Bulk orders ship worldwide via express or air/sea freight.

Every gold jewelry order gets 3 layers of QC
- Incoming material check — verifying alloy purity and stone quality
- In-process inspection — casting defects, plating adhesion, stone security
- Final AQL inspection — visual, dimensional and functional checks before packing

How We Test Gold Jewelry: Standards Behind the Sparkle
Gold jewelry quality is not just about how it looks on day one — it's about how it survives real life: sweat, perfume, hand washing, friction and time. Our lab runs a battery of tests on plated and filled pieces to guarantee performance before your customers ever see them.
Thickness & Gold Content Test
Using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, we verify karat purity of solid gold and measure the exact micron thickness of plated layers. Every batch spec is recorded — so "18k gold plated" on your label is a number we can prove.
Rubbing & Wear Test
Plated samples are rubbed under controlled pressure for hundreds of cycles to simulate months of daily wear. We check for flaking, color shift and base-metal exposure, then adjust plating thickness if needed.
Salt Spray & Sweat Resistance
Pieces are exposed to salt spray and artificial sweat to simulate coastal climates and active lifestyles. This is critical for gold-plated and gold-filled jewelry that must not tarnish quickly.
Safety & Compliance Screening
All materials are screened for lead, cadmium and nickel release to meet EU REACH, US and global jewelry safety standards — essential if you sell on Amazon, Etsy or in regulated markets. More in our jewelry certifications guide.

Gold Jewelry Questions, Answered by the Factory
Straight answers from the people who actually make gold jewelry — no sales fluff. If your question isn't here, ask us directly via our FAQ page or contact form.
Is gold-plated jewelry real gold?
Technically yes — there is a layer of real gold on the surface — but the item's core is a base metal such as sterling silver or brass. "Real gold" in the fine-jewelry sense means solid gold or gold-filled. We always recommend labeling products honestly: gold-plated over 925 sterling silver is accurate and trusted by customers. For more, read how to buy durable gold-plated jewelry.
Does gold-plated jewelry tarnish or turn your skin green?
With proper plating thickness and a quality base metal, gold-plated jewelry resists tarnish for a long time — but eventually the plating can wear, revealing the base. Skin discoloration usually comes from a reaction between sweat and base metals like copper or brass. Our gold-plated pieces are plated over 925 sterling silver (no copper core), which dramatically reduces green-skin reactions. See gold-plated vs raw brass and why alloy jewelry tarnishes.
What is the difference between 14k and 18k gold jewelry?
14k gold contains 58.5% pure gold; 18k contains 75%. 18k has a richer color and higher gold value but is softer and more expensive. 14k is harder, more scratch-resistant and usually the smarter choice for everyday rings and bracelets. Our full karat comparison guide covers all the numbers.
Can you make custom gold jewelry with my logo or my own design?
Yes — that is our core business. Send us your design, sketch or logo, and we'll handle CAD modeling, sampling and production. Many brands start with a custom charm, ring or pendant featuring their logo. Explore custom 3D design and our OEM gold necklace example.
What is the MOQ for wholesale gold jewelry?
MOQ depends on the design and material. For gold-plated fashion pieces on our existing designs, MOQ can be as low as 50 pieces per style. For custom CAD designs and solid gold, MOQs are higher because of tooling and material costs. Tell us your budget and target price — we'll propose a workable MOQ. See low-MOQ gold-plated OEM for real numbers.
How long does a custom gold jewelry order take?
Roughly: CAD & render 3–5 days, sample 5–7 days, bulk production 15–25 days for plated pieces and 20–30 days for solid gold, plus shipping. We publish an importing timeline guide so you can plan your launch calendar.
Is gold-filled jewelry good quality?
Yes. Gold-filled jewelry offers a real-gold look and feel with far better durability than plating, at a fraction of solid-gold cost. It's an excellent middle tier for brands serving style-conscious customers. Learn more in gold-filled myths and facts and wholesale gold-filled jewelry.
Do you provide certificates for gold content?
Yes — bulk orders can include laboratory test reports verifying karat purity, plating thickness and safety compliance. Talk to our team about certification requirements for your target market (US, EU, UK, etc.).
